ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A friend of mine gave me a bunch of old photos he inherited from his grafnfather's. He told me that said grandfather took part in WWII as a photographer but involuntarily. A lot of the photos suggested otherwise. This myth carries through a lot of German families, that try to convince themselves, that their relatives were forced to take part and can not be held responsible. I used the photos most eerie and hard to explain as inspiration for a series of paintings.
