ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Tulip Fever has been inspired by a small collage drawing I made whilst at art school back in the day. This piece is worked in oil on stretched fine linen and shows a complex series of views from inside and outside a conservatory with the light coming through the large arched windows. The tulips vary in size showing the distance depicted in the painting. I have always been fascinated by light and shadows playing over my subjects and I feel a sense of calm in the moment captured in the painting.
