ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Surprisingly this work wasn't inspired by roses at all! What set me off was a trip to Dalhousie in the Himalayas. We stayed at a lovely private estate which had a creeper with fuschia flowers crawling all over it. It was breathtaking. I have tried to capture the vivid hues and the dramatic appeal of that scene.
