ABOUT THE ARTWORK
2005 was the year of BerriBlue's emigration from Poland to Ireland. It was a very important year, and a difficult one, marking the end of her childhood. Being uprooted so abruptly, and cutting off the life she had enjoyed had a profound effect on her. The piece was featured in Attitude Interior Design Magazine's 2018 Nov/Dec edition. It is now in a private collection in The Netherlands.

BerriBlue is a Polish / Irish artist based in Porto, Portugal. Prominent in her work are themes of mental health, femininity, sexuality, and mortality. Though well known for her street art, BerriBlue is also a successful studio artist. She has had four solo shows to date, and her work is held in collections in Dublin, Lisbon, Mozambique, Porto, and Los Angeles. She trained as a printmaker and graphic designer, and has released a line of beautifully illustrated silk scarves, though painting was always her first love.
