Uluru Painting

When Lauren was 28, she set on a mission to see the world. She was about to purchase a one-way ticket to Australia, then continue traveling from there. While her adventurous spirit has somewhat subsided, the trip she did make to Australia changed her life. As part of a cultural immersion group, the artist and a group of women camped under the Australian stars in the Outback, created art and danced with Aboriginal elders and women, learned some of their healing methods, and explored the majestic, sacred site of Uluru in the heart of Australia (known as 'Ayers Rock' in the western world). The rich culture of the Australian outback and the Aborigine heritage and history captured Lauren's heart and inspires her endlessly to this day. These colors bring the viewer to the sunrises and sunsets of the outback, the iron oxide of the beautiful red rock, and the desert skies of this enchanting world while sharing the visions under the night sky with the Aborigines.
