About The Artwork
I find palm trees so evocative of lazy days in the sunshine... and I wanted a perspective that would make the viewer part of the painting, particularly when relaxing on the couch and looking upwards. The sky is a collage of ripped strips of my own painted paper, for greater complexity and texture. The fronds, dates and trunks feature heavy gold paint to catch the light from different directions. Canvas painted on sides, so does not need framing!
