Ewa Okolowicz 1979 Szczecin (Poland)
Painter and creator of animation videos. Studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Spain, where she graduated in 2007. Specialized in Animation in 2008 at the same University.
Ewa exhibited in galleries and museums in Poland, Spain, Germany, the United States, Chile, participated in artistic residencies and workshops in Poland, Germany, Hungary, Chile and showed her cartoons at festivals in Spain, France, Holland, India. She carried out projects in collaboration with visual artists, musicians and writers such as an individual exhibition“Transatlantyk" at Casona Sanchina, Rancagua, Chile 2013;“Pictorial leaks. Chromatic concert for a blank canvas "at the Kessler-Battaglia Gallery in Valencia, Spain 2012; " Ryby "Color Elefante Gallery in Valencia, Spain 2010. During her career and life, the journeys, travels, continuous renewals have influenced the images, themes and supports. In 2014 Ewa exhibited her works from the Magallanes "Patagonia-objet trouve" at the Biennal of Art Roomart “Migracions Visuals”, La Nau Museum in Valencia, Spain. In 2016 she participated in collective exhibition "Patagonia minimalista" at the Galpón Patagonia Cultural Center, Puerto Natales, Chile.
Parallel to her works inspired by landscapes and the sea, in which she focuses on intangible elements such as light, wind, fog, cold, heat ... she also investigates the drawing of human figure and existential themes (individual exhibition "Notes on bodies in definition", One Study, Valencia 2012). No matter how different, her paintings, drawings and animations have always a common point: the chromatic asceticism and allusion to the transience of life.
Currently lives and works in Puerto Natales, Chilean Patagonia, where in 2017 founded the art gallery: ewagallery puerto natales.
Okolowicz´s paintings are in private collections all around the world.
