Unkind Words Painting

I picked up my first paintbrush as an exhausted first-time mom on maternity leave. Struggling with Postpartum Anxiety and searching for a sense of identity beyond motherhood, I needed something that felt uniquely mine. One hour into my first painting, I knew I had found exactly the outlet I was looking for. My painting process is intuitive, guided by emotion and spontaneous decisions made in the moment. It's a form of meditation for me, where hours behind the easel can feel like just a few minutes. Painting this way ​allows me to express raw emotions directly onto the ​canvas, creating a deeply personal work of art. It is also just really fun.
