An energetic abstract work where whites and colours play for dominance. As an experiment with colour, this painting advises against a need to cover the whole canvas. Instead the muted colours find balance with the neutrals and space to breathe. Parts of the composition stick out while others recede. Many moods and subjects can be found in this colour blotting, from the energy of a fiesta to calm movement. Each viewer will see something different.

“I like to paint what moves my soul and inspires me; colour, movement, shape, and the beauty of nature in a realistic or abstract way. By deconstructing the world around me, I try to find what is the inherent beauty of an element, and I express it using my paints, brushes, and canvas. One may find a story, mystery, or humour hidden in my paintings.” Christa Vayanos was born and raised in Munich, Germany. From a young age she showed an interest in arts and travelling. Soon enough, her talent in painting began to emerge as she experimented with special techniques and developed her own unique style. In 1970, and for the next 8 years, she travelled throughout Europe. She studied the techniques of great painters as she was given the chance to visit a wide range of art and culture museums. In 1978 she settled permanently in Greece where she studied painting techniques in several independent art schools and workshops. She also took private lessons with Natassa Metaxa and continued her studies (1987-1993) at the Cultural Centre in Glyfada, with Babis Katsatsidis, Chrissa Haratsi, Natassa Metaxa and Petros Athanasiou. Among others, she studied History of Art, Theory of Painting, Anatomy of Figures, Landscapes, Still Life and Traditional Painting.
