Untitled 63 Painting

Like a lot of artists, heartbreak and stress inspired this piece. I wanted to do something I had never done before so I decided to partner with a woodworker to piece separate canvases together and then create something that could look different ever time someone looks at it. I hope viewers will feel angst but then be filled with understanding and peace. The piece can be viewed in any dimension, you can twist and turn it and it will take you into a new world every time. I chose acrylic paint, tempura paint, charcoal, glitter, and foil paper to create the various layers. I also created a lot of dimension using different materials mixed with the paints. It gives the painting a grittier and tough surface. Creating a more masculine feel and that's how I felt. I felt like maybe how men feel when they are broken and feel they can't really show it.
