Generally, my work is based on the vulnerability and strength of minerals. In the series started in 2023, of which this painting is a part, I continue my research work on minerals, especially ochre, and matter by reinterpreting the marks left by stonemasons on medieval buildings. I have also integrated into this series parts covered with sticks, in a simplicity that could be likened to a kind of universal writing. Despite these explanations, my works are not titled, because it is important to me that the viewer brings his own interpretation to them.

My painting work consists in a kind of half-abstract and half-figurative approach. Solid and vulnerable at the same time, the mineral attracts me. Caves, deserts, rock walls, lapidary signs of stonemasons of the Middle Age... these traces, witnesses of disappearance, refer to impermanence. In my work, beyond the rough and coarse aspect of the matter, I seek to reveal an underlying and diffuse delicacy, induced by the play between light and the balance, or imbalance, of the matter. I use natural pigments and minerals mixed with acrylic applied with pad, spatula and scraper mostly on thick paper but also on canvas or wood. My works are not random. Each artwork results of reflection. Realization step gives free rein to the immediacy and spontaneity of the gesture.
