Shinjiro Tanaka is an artist with many talents who creates digital pieces as well as contemporary pieces on canvas, and at times murals on walls. He was born in California and is currently based in Tokyo, Japan. Discovering his creativity at a young age, he has always enjoyed expressing himself through art. After graduating from Keio University (BA, Economics) and working for Dentsu (advertising agency in Tokyo), he moved to New York to pursue his passion. He had the opportunity to work as an assistant for a musical producer. As a dancer himself, he collaborated with Nile Rodgers & CHIC on stage. He also participated in the Heisei Nakamuraza Kabuki Troupe New York performances. As an independent artist, he established the apparel brand “BSWK” which promotes the culture and art of the Bushwick area in New York. He has held 2 solo exhibitions, “FACE” (2018) and “Reincarnation” (2018) in Tokyo. In 2018, he traveled throughout New York City for 30 days and painted at various locations. Upon his return to Tokyo, he held an exhibition entitled “NYC Street Art Project” to share his experiences and artwork with the community. In 2019, he won the Art Battle Tokyo 2019 competition.
