About The Artwork
I try to make traces of time on photography and painting in the traditional way. The images in traditional Korean paintings are virtual worlds created by an ancient artist. I wanted to create a new space where virtual and real world coexist by adding real photographic images to this virtual place. Some present items were combined with the virtual natural place created by traditional Korean painters. That is, by combining the various aspects of modern society in traditional Korean paintings, the past and present coexist on one canvas. Furthermore, I’d like to create a virtual place that seems to exist somewhere in the present.
