Materials: Charcoal, acrylic and gold leaf on Saunders Waterford 425 gr. paper. 56x76 cm. The paper has a coloured base on which a grisaille is applied. Gold leaf to reinforce the direction of a threat, which comes from both sides of the composition, represented by elements in the form of arrows. The composition of the two bow-shaped dogs seems to emit sound in the face of a disturbing jumble of shapes executed with expressionist brushstrokes on a crimson background. Although the scene manifests a restrained violence, it seems to rest within a framework of micro-symbolisms that refer to the History of Art.

Spanish designer and painter. The works of Luis María Iglesia present a play between figurative elements that refer to history, in particular to the history and genesis of works of art, and a gestural graphic treatment, sometimes abstract, other times geometric in nature through a exhaustive material investigation. A space of references made up of multiple layers or strata like a palimpsest. Although it never abandons its materialization or “space of representation” that activates the relationship of the artistic object with the human being, as a recipient of the action of painting, delving at the same time into the object aspect, and its functioning as an apotropaic element, as a fetish that always accompanies us. Thing or element that establishes a sensitive relationship by making the invisible visible with the soul of the viewer. Always in search of a balance between aesthetic contemplation and poetic narrative. His work is deeply symbolic, lyrical and at the same time disturbing, it gravitates between memory and permanent exposure to new perceptual experiences. For Luis María Iglesia, color is a living energy that emphasizes the compositions, in a movement that oscillates between intimate questions and impulses of memory and history. His specialized studies in Graphic Techniques have influenced the research and application of new expressive formulas, creating images with multiple layers, while his experience as a Graphic Design teacher has formed a balanced use of color. His paintings are created from a deep sacred geometry often based on the patterns originated by metallic numbers, covered almost invisible behind fascinating layers, dramatic yet peaceful, strong and vibrant with space for quiet contemplation. Visual representation of the eternal energy of the multiverse, a universal energetic vibration.
