About The Artwork
My inspiration came from an embroidery in ancient China. Stories of evil ghosts and mysterious magical beasts haunted my childhood. But I cannot resist the temptation to read more. I never fully understood the world of monsters and ghosts then, however, the books became a child’s closest companion and offered comforts a lot. As time goes by, I am surrounded by tons of ‘mature’ grow-ups. There are so many moments that I realize human is the least favorite of mine. Beasts and ghosts, on the other hand, have the slightest idea of being evil and destructive, and always make me feel warm and relaxed. I love painting them! In my imaginative world that is rich in detail, decorated with silver, gold and copper strokes, the work is truly alive.
