Like all the titles in this series, the word Upekkha comes from the Pali language and means equanimity, it is the peace that we call stoic, although in this series I would call it Buddhist. Would I be understood in the same way?… I must admit that for many, many years I was unable to distinguish equanimity from indifference. It seemed to me that if I was not emotionally involved, I remained indifferent. But this approach is a big mistake, because the lack of emotional involvement does not exclude active involvement, it does not exclude action. Moreover, it allows anyone to act properly because his or her mind is not entangled in fear, lust, hatred, the desire for revenge or infatuation. One acts calmly, leaving the result free from judgment. One does everything to make it successful, but does not get attached to what will happen, because no matter what happens, one will remain calm, which allows to take the right further action. This artwork is painted on canvas stretched on wooden frame. I was using professional oil-colours with premium quality colour pigments that have high resistance to fading. Sides are continuously painted, so there is no need to frame. The picture is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity and ready for wall mounting. The work of art will be professionally carefully packed, shipped and insured. Shipment can be followed to your doorstep with the track & trace code.

Jacek Sikora - an actor by profession, painter by choice, traveler by twist of fate. He began his adventure with art by working on stage. Studies at Ecole Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris, and Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique opened him to the expression and code of gestures of the human body. The trace of stage work can be found in his figurative works, in which man is always at the center. His artistic path has evolved from acting and pantomime towards visual arts and easel painting. Enchanted by traditional Far Eastern ink painting on paper, he begins his artistic search with figurative art based on monochrome color, in which we find the most characteristic features of his work - color and detail minimalism. Over time, his works evolve towards color field painting, reducing detail from abstract paintings and introducing color to figurative ones, which emphasizes the importance of the symbols hidden in the paintings. Today, paintings by Jacek Sikora can be found in collections in Great Britain, USA, Russia, Australia, France, Cyprus, Emirates and Japan. He lives and works in Świdnica.
