This watercolor comes from a series called "Uprooted" inspired by the extraction of olive trees to be sold, as well as the construction of buildings ignoring the nature of the environment. The paper chosen for this work is from the brand "Arches" special for watercolor. It is of great quality and absorption allowing an exceptional fixation of colors

BIOGRAPHY In her works, she seeks to communicate messages and feelings to the world, regardless of the materials she needs to use to achieve this purpose. In this way, her work is a range of different proposals and pictorial styles, techniques and mediums that will not leave the viewer indifferent. Isabel extracts elements from everything she observes, reads and hears to metamorphose them and create a new artwork that helps us question our presence in this world, as well as the influence we exert on our own environment. She was born in Argentina, where she studied the Fine Arts Degree. In 2001 she settled in Spain with her family and from that moment on, the olive groves, the light and the blue of the Mediterranean Sea are present in her work. Former Art teacher and Graphic Designer, her interest in the knowledge of New Technologies applied to artistic creation encouraged her to finish the Degree in Audiovisual Communication in 2015. Her work can be found in both private collections and public foundations in Argentina as well as in the Excellency Deputation Artistic Fund of Castellón, Spain. Currently, Castello Ocampos works full time with oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, ink, soft pastels, guesso, mixed media, in his studio located in a small town in Spain, very close to the Mediterranean Sea. ARTIST STATEMENT My canvases painted in oil and acrylic, as well as my drawings and watercolors, show a dialogue between our inner universe and our environment, in which increasingly abrupt and greater changes are generated, which inevitably affect us. I feel the need to see what is inside of us, emotions, thoughts that cannot be stopped, beliefs, spirituality, prejudices, fears or desires, to translate them into forms of "atypical creatures" that always leave a hopeful, unique and constructive message towards the world. Looking inside helps us understand ourselves. In addition, my interest and research for the protection of ancient olive trees in Spain, many times extracted for the construction of buildings ignoring the nature of the environment, stimulated the passion I feel for the fusion of the forms of nature with human forms. Through morphological torsion, I alter their basic structures, causing a Kafkaesque metamorphosis, as an allegory of humanity's confrontation with the modern world that surrounds us.
