This artwork is inspired by my time as an artist in resident at Falls Creek during summer watching the sunset over the alpine environment each night. My Urban Garden and Landscape artworks are created using photos of gardens or landscapes as inspiration. I aim to capture and recreate the energy and vibrancy of these environments by using the following processes: - Layer 1: Acrylic paint is used in an intuitive manner to communicate the natural vibrancy of the natural environment in these images. - Layer 2: Spray Paint is used to spray a geometric stencil grid over this natural environment stamping out the planned organised way we have developed our natural environments. - Layer 3: Hand embroidery is used to connect the natural and urban layers building connections through patterns that highlights the flaws and features of these environments.

Since graduating with a Masters in Fine Art at Monash University in Melbourne Tarli has been exhibiting regularly around Australia. Tarli is an artist inspired by a passion for travelling and exploring. Intuition guides the recreations of her surroundings- reimagining the built and natural environment with simple lines, colour, texture and patterns that extend the boundaries of representation. With a deliberate application of acrylic, spray paint and embroidery, Tarli uses each layer of materials to represent the effects of human action on the natural environment. The first layer of acrylic paint suggests human influence, the second of spray paint suggests human influences and the third layer of embroidery indicates the impact of both natural events and urban developments on a landscape.
