Nikolay Maslov is a contemporary artist, painter, and photographer working across Europe and Southeast Asia.
His creative method is based on a unique synthesis: his education as an engineer of aerophotogeodesy (aerial surveying and mapping) gave him a deep understanding of structure, geometry, and the cartography of space, while his studies in film and television added mastery over light and composition.
This background imbues his abstractions with a strict geometric structure and underscores an engineering approach to form. Maslov explores the dialogue between emotion and order, between chaos and structure.
The key themes are the construction of light and the search for a visible structure for the Unspeakable. His extensive body of work includes the painting series "URBES," "OPPIDA," "FLUVII," as well as the conceptual photography series "Inner Cosmos." Each work is an act of Conceptual Completion, where form seeks its ultimate conceptual clarity.
