To be viewed while reading my original poem entitled Living Prairie Her ruddy knuckles jut in the night and her nude feet grip the cracked dirt. Naked lids close and coarse hands ball into fists; the limp aster floats to the ground. Steadily, she quiets once active lacrimal sacs; weaving a weathered life spawns drought. Aspen leaves whisper and chickens squawk; buffalograss slices memories and winds rise like storied curtains. A mystical fury descends on stolen ground as silhouettes of bison charge their enemy; a gust catapults the flower.
