About The Artwork

For me, the Venice Biennale has always been a huge event. I’m looking forward every two years and was following the new names and discoveries of contemporary artists. This year, the event was especially long-awaited due to covid postpones. It is absolutely magical that Cecilia Alemani was curated my first Biennial that I saw “live”. Many people found in the exhibition only themes of war and violence, decadence or utopias.. however, I opened up a completely different side. Themes of tradition and strong ancestral heritage, the themes of female magic and the soft power of transformation. Themes of objection to feminine strength, complex beauty, a multi-layered world. In the main pavilion, we can immerse ourselves in the work of surrealist artists who foresaw many changes in this world. The magical inspirer of the Carrington Biennale, in collaboration with the wise Remedios Varo, led me into the hall to the magnificent modern Cecilia Vicuña and the gloomy, daring and strong-willed Paula rego .. later I again breathed inspiring power from the sculptures of Mrinalini Mukherjee, who preserves the traditions of her people and increases the strength of the feminine weaving. In other pavilions, I was inspired by the art of Felippe Baez, Tau Lewis with huge protective masks and Sandra Mujinga with her installation of altered creatures in green… I enjoyed the pavilions of Italy and France, the absolutely space pavilion of Korea, the Pavilion of Malta with the universe inspired by Caravaggio .. the pavilion of Belgium and its children's games .. well, The Biennale winner of the amazing Simone Leigh is the icing on the cake. Her work is about the heritage of many women artists, collected in one strong, beautiful and deep form. Her works are filled with life, as infinitely strong as she herself.

I was born in Belarus, however, now I live and work in Spain. I am a figurative artist and from a technical point of view, I have gone from subject painting to the revised ideas of cubism and expressionism. The main theme of my artistic research is transformations and changes in our bodies and mind. I use the main principle of the cubists - to depict an object simultaneously from each side, however, I apply it not to the object of the image, but to time. I am fascinated by the constant change as the basis of our life. To convey the sensual side, I prefer to work with a complex color palette of oil paints, colored pencils, and wax crayons. For the last five years, I have been exploring in my paintings the various processes that affect our bodies. I am interested in the problems of acceptance or rejection of age-related changes, the problems of social taboos, and the framework imposed by society and forcing many women not to accept their bodies. I care about how our worldview, deep feelings, and life experience are reflected on our faces and bodies. My art is about discovering unconventional beauty and accepting and working through change and finding joy at the moment. I am convinced that we come into this world to change and encourage our viewers to enjoy this process. We lose and find ourselves, we change but somehow stay the same person, we age but come alive. We are a process and not a frozen, still pretty picture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMbxo6e1cIs
