About The Artwork
I love gardens with tropical plants and exotic colours. Bougainvillea is one of my favourites. A bougainvillea garden on the canal is a chance to play with colours. The scene was sensationalized with the colour, form and shape contrasts of the foliage of bougainvillea against tall striking pink building in the background, and the bridge too! The reflection, vibration and echo in the scene was too good for me to think of an atmospheric mono tonal palette. And Yes, the iconic blue poles of gondola stops really add to my excitement! I added the two figures on the bridge to complete the romance notion of Venice Bougainvillea!
