Everyone has a shadow, a dark and deep pool, in which we sink everything we don’y want to see of who we are. The Shadow follows us, everywhere, charging itself with a hungry and tireless energy, that growls, push, demands and deplete. The more we worry to light up ourselves with the powerful spotlights the society offers us to appear, the more the Shadow gets sharper and darker. As never before, the mass media expose us, often unarmed, to events that show, with an unthinkable accuracy not so long ago, the frightful power of the Shadow when, no more restrained, explodes. In order to not to be devoured or to exhaust ourselves hiding it, we need to explore the depth of the Shadow, turning our back at the light and look, straight forward, the heart of darkness. With this series, my desire is to show a some interactions I had with the Shadow: encounters made of cruel ambushes, furious dialogues and fights to death. On canvas, as in a still image, I fix the appearance of the Shadow in an explosion of dart and hissing shapes that assume anthropomorphic traits. At the same time, within the alternation of black and white, the Shadow sketches deformed figures that wink from the darkness with their deep black eye. From this encounter between Light and Shadow emerges an ancestral dance full of raw and feral energy which, if let free to run on the canvas, soften in powerful and balanced forms, losing the the look of unknown, dark and fearful mass.

Diving deep into my Passions following the Arianna's thread of my feelings. I've always been excited by the idea that everything we perceive is nothing but a form of energetic vibration: light, heat, sound, colors, matter itself, which is simply energy vibrating at a much lower frequency. We ourselves make up a complex and marvellous vibrational system that constantly interacts with the external world. Through painting I've attempted to grasp the vibration and the dance of elements in constant transformation within the world that surrounds me. As I created the paintings, I myself have participated to this vibration with my emotional state and my desire to depict something of myself through colors. I play with colors: throwing them and letting them drip in a thousand different ways and, although I have a certain degree of control on what is happening, I am unable to predict the exact form that a drop of color will take or how it will interact with the layers previously laid. Once they leave my hands, and therefore my will, color becomes an instrument in the hands of the universe that, with its laws of physics, collaborates in creating the final chromatic texture. What emerges on the canvas is a sort of "four-handed creation" in which the work is at the same time a portrait and a self-portrait of myself and the world.
