ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Created by painting directly onto the model's breast and pressing a gessoed board into her nipple using a monotype process. A collaborative effort between model and artist with proceeds split evenly between the two after expenses. The work was inspired by the larger works that I make working with the model as a brush. The nipple "prints" were a keepsake for the model, something small as a souvenir of the experience. I hope the viewer will see and feel the fun and joy that the model and I experience making the work. I chose the medium for the smoothness of the surface which captures the texture of the model's skin. The style is the inspired by Max Ernst and his decalcomania process.

Based in Portland, Oregon USA, Nipples of Venus is a collaborative, body positive, art project between artist Boob Ross and the amazing women of the Pacific Northwest. Each piece of art is created by painting the model's breast and pressing a gessoed board or watercolor paper into her nipple. A unique and one of a kind work of art is produced using a monotype process, numbering 16 per session. The project began in August 2015 with three models; Verronica Kirei, Whim Grace, and Floofie. Lillias Right, Pure Rebel and Nikko Jordan and more have lent their talents to the project.
