ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This captivating work of art features a young woman seated in profile, exuding an aura of strength and serenity. The canvas is dominated by an earthy, vibrant color palette, where beige and brown tones blend harmoniously with bursts of bright blue and red. The central character, dressed in casual jeans and a light top, is highlighted by her confident posture and piercing gaze, turned towards the viewer. What makes this painting truly unique is the masterful use of textures and contrasts. The abstract paint dabs in the background create a sense of movement and depth, while delicately framing the woman's silhouette. His features are finely detailed, with a meticulousness that testifies to the artist's virtuosity, especially in the rendering of shadows and lights on his skin. The contrast between the modernity of the character, reflected in his contemporary clothing style and stylized dreadlocks, and the textured abstraction of the background, creates a fascinating visual tension. This juxtaposition underlines not only the timeless beauty of the subject, but also the complexity of its personality and history. The bright white headband covering her hair immediately catches the eye and adds a touch of purity and innocence, contrasting with the bold paint dabs in the background. Every detail seems carefully thought out to invite the viewer to a deeper reflection on the subject depicted, thus providing an enriching and unforgettable visual experience. In short, this work skilfully combines realism and abstraction, modernity and timelessness, in a composition that cannot leave you indifferent. Its ability to capture both human strength and vulnerability makes it an exceptionally powerful and alluring piece.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Born in Courrières in the North of France, I share my time between the North of France and Paris which inspires me many urban scenes including café terraces. I have always used oil paint because slow drying suits my technique better. I work in series by inspiring my surrounding, places I go to, objects I own and stage. In the series "Réflexions sur le temps qui passe", I treat the cars and Vespa in the manner of the "vanities" of the past by perforating the bodies, rusting them, thus translating the time that passes and which reduces to few things once prestigious vehicles. The parallel is obvious with our own existence. In the still lifes séries, I stage objects with a preference for metal and glass and using a palette of coloured grey and nuanced white so as to have a contemporary touch. In the series "Mes petites Nanas", I interpret scenes, situations, by putting in scene my daughter who is used to me as model (The comedy of the feelings, or the works on the small girls). Finally, the urban landscapes are inspired, as I said earlier, by my numerous stays in Paris where I live part of the year.
