Caroleena is an emerging contemporary abstract artist from Suva, Fiji. Throughout her life, she has managed to live in places such as Africa, England, Vietnam, New Zealand, and the United States, which have helped shape and influence her work. With exposure to both traditional cultures and the modern world, she is able to freely interpret her surroundings, and still capture the authentic spirit of the places she has experienced. Through the use of color, washes and brush stroke build-ups, textures, and methodical painting techniques, she is able to convey an emotional language that allows the viewer to engage and connect with her pieces in a nostalgic way. Caroleena lives and works in New York.
