Alexander’s exposure to Eastern European culture and American culture helped him broaden his horizon as an artist. His exposure to art from both continents helped define the route he would later take from muralist to fine art. Based in Los Angeles, the city had a huge impact on his art. Soon he picked up aerosol, as a medium, and started creating murals throughout Los Angeles County. His murals prompted people to take notice and was commissioned to paint several murals for schools from the LAUSD School District. Creating huge murals helped Alexander learn new skills and techniques that would later help him transition into fine art. After creating beautiful murals throughout the city Alexander wanted to expand his artistic ability and fully emerged himself into learning everything about oil painting and realism. He studied old masters' artwork such as; Diego Velázquez, Joaquín Sorolla, Anders Zorn, and Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema among others. While learning about fine art he came across plein air painting and soon it became one of his favorite ways to express his artist ability. The southern California scenery has been the inspiration behind many of his plein air artworks. Alexander’s objective is to create paintings that will beautifully capture his subject and prompt the senses of the viewer.
