I strive to convey more than just an image; my goal is to create an atmosphere that stirs primal emotions within the viewer, inviting them to reflect on the stages of life through evocative, fleeting moments. This approach is inspired by artists like Remedios Varo, whose mysticism and exploration of the dreamlike resonate deeply in my work, inspiring me to build fantastic worlds that invite introspection. The ornamental richness and sensuality of Gustav Klimt are reflected in my use of color and texture, while Egon Schiele’s expressive portrayal of the human figure encourages me to challenge conventions and capture emotional complexity. Other influential figures, such as Odd Nerdrum, Andrew Wyeth, and Oskar Kokoschka, drive my exploration of the human condition, light and landscape, and bold approaches to color and form. Watercolor is my primary medium, chosen for its fluidity and ability to capture subtle nuances. I begin each piece with broad, atmospheric layers that set the mood, then refine it with softer, muted tones for a nuanced final result. My palette is rich in blues and earth tones, with granulating pigments that add texture and depth, creating a harmonious blend of colors that conveys the emotional essence I wish to share. My intention is to provoke philosophical reflections in the spirit of Giorgio de Chirico, crafting images that suggest hidden narratives and profound meanings. Currently, I am also exploring pen techniques to further develop my artistic voice, embracing a journey of continuous evolution and expressive depth.
