I did this painting right after President Bush junior declared war on Iraq. I was horrified at the thought of war. I wanted to create a symbolic, subtle anti-war piece. The falling woman symbolizes the "collateral damage" to innocents: women, children, the elderly, that most certainly would occur. The bull's eye shape exploding outward represents the uncontrollable explosiveness of war. The cool, unemotional tone of the painting and the color scale on the left side of the painting symbolizes the cold, unemotional, calculating, political minds that said "yes" to this war, unmoved by the fact that innocent people were die and horrible destruction that occurs in all wars. The painting is signed and dated on the back. It is unframed, but the edges are neatly painted. It is wired and ready to hang. I really like this painting.
