“My journey through life has been accompanied and often illustrated by my passion for art in its different media. It is this that helps me to find who I am. I hope and trust that you will enjoy these expressions from within”. Manohar is a self-taught artist. Over the years he has developed an original style and technique using mostly acrylic and oil paints on canvas. He also does oil pastel and pencil sketches, and metal embossing on aluminum and copper sheets. His paintings were exhibited at the International Art Exhibition in Budapest, in 2008, and at the Art-Money Exhibition in Copenhagen, in 2016. Some of his art was also selected for publication in five series of BONFIRE, an International conflagration –Fandango virtual publication in the UK. Manohar’s life changed radically when he came in contact with people with mental disabilities during his college days. He was drawn to share his life with them in an International residential community where he received training and formation, and got to travel extensively through India, the US, and Europe. Back in 1976, he began using art as a therapeutic tool for people with mental illnesses. It has now been over 40 years since he began his profession as a social worker and a trained counselor. He currently leads an organization for children with mental disabilities. He also provides counseling services to people with physical and mental disabilities and their families in villages in the state of Karnataka, India. His art is an expression of his personal journey through life and of his relationship with marginalized people. Website: .r.manohar.01/ Email: Exhibitions:
