This oil painting on paper draws its inspiration from a classic tapestry motif, capturing the poetic journey of a man walking through an intricately designed landscape. The use of soft, fluid brushstrokes imbues the scene with a dreamlike quality, reflecting the rhythm and grace of the figure’s movement. The background is rendered with delicate precision, evoking the rich textures and detailed patterns typical of historical tapestries. The man, central to the composition, is depicted in a reflective pose, suggesting a narrative filled with contemplation and serenity. This piece beautifully marries the timeless elegance of tapestry art with the expressive possibilities of oil painting, creating a visual poem that resonates with quiet introspection and classical beauty

I am interested in certain images from which I can extract relevant information. It wouldn't make sense for me to make a total abstraction, or something clearly recognizable. I think it is important to maintain a geometric or structural remnant that promotes the sensation of remembering something, a visual construction to decipher or understand. Horror vacui generated by the influence of Tapestry Art, ceramics, mosaics, heraldic shields or Japanese prints into the context of hypertext painting let me play with the white background of the paper or canvas that acts as a context between the spontaneity of the brushstrokes. On a practical level, I am interested in superimposing, skewing the information in the image, placing tension on the margin or playing with color through pictorial exercises of freedom.
