I am an abstract painter based in East Hampton, New York, deeply inspired by the natural beauty of the East End. My work explores the emotional and sensory impact of color, movement, and texture. Through layered acrylic compositions—often incorporating gestural lines, organic forms, and patterns—I create visual spaces that reflect both the internal and external landscapes that shape my experience. My process flows between the intuitive and the intentional—sometimes beginning with a feeling or memory, and other times building on a developed concept or design. Whether I’m responding in the moment or refining an idea over time, I experiment with color, mark-making, and composition to create layered visual experiences. More recently, my love of design and pattern has found a deeper place in my work, adding a new layer of rhythm and intention to my evolving visual language. For over twenty years, I nurtured creative expression in others as an art teacher at the Amagansett School. Teaching has remained an important part of my life and continues to influence how I view community, process, and creative growth. I remain connected to this vibrant artistic community where I’ve lived since childhood and raised my own family in nearby Sag Harbor. My educational path includes a B.S. in Art Education from LIU Southampton and a M.Ed. in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University. These experiences, along with additional studies in ceramics, printmaking, and design, have helped shape the layered and thoughtful approach I bring to my studio practice today. Rooted in place and fueled by curiosity, my work invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and feel something familiar in the abstract.
