ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I painted this self portrait to honor the love and pride I finally feel for myself. I wanted to show a reflection of the light within white is why I used a warm color scheme on the skin. In contrast, I used a cool color scheme in the hair because I question if sadness ever really goes away. I hope the viewer feels joy when they see this piece and want to connect with the woman looking back at them.
