This painting was inspired by the local Heron's fishing near my home in Scotland on the River Esk. The heron looks regal as he waits for dinner to pass by, standing still on a stone or bank by the river. I used a mixture of colour's and media to suggest the river backdrop using a random flowing technique and painted the heron on to this once dry. I love the metallic effect of some of the paints used in the back ground which give a different look as you move around the artwork. Signed on the back and on the front, all original artwork includes a certificate of authenticity and is ready to hang. My paintings are carefully wrapped and packed, shipped and tracked within 5 working days of payment. Thanks so much for taking an interest in my work. As a child I spent hours sketching and drawing the things I found around my home up in the wilds of the Cumbrian hills but as life moved on I found I didn’t have the time to paint and draw anymore. I have now been reawakened to the enjoyment of bringing an idea to life and am finding my calling once more. I am a country girl at heart and have always had a love of the flora and fauna found in and around my home and this is where I take my inspiration from. Animals and birds are what I chose to study the most, but I also find enjoyment in a beautiful landscape or seascape and want to create a vibrant, appealing image that will be appreciated for what it is for a long time to come. I love the vibrancy of a sunny day and my paintings quite often are a little brighter than reality, I love to paint a happy image and hope this comes across in my work. Now working from home in Canonbie, Dumfriesshire, I have been selling artwork and prints online over the last four years. I have sold a number of original works and prints from local outlets, craft fayres and online as well as producing many commissions.
