Painting "We are still not Ok. Blackout." is representation of the impact of war on civilians on winter 2022-2023 years. On the picture depicts one house with 100 real windows and one door in Blackout in war. The broken house and blacked-out windows symbolize the destruction and loss of life that war brings. However, amidst the darkness, there is also a glimmer of hope. Despite the devastation of war, the people of Ukraine continue to rebuild and move forward. We have not lost our spirit, our determination, or our sense of community. In fact, the adversity we have faced has only made us stronger. At the picture you see the generator on the balcony, people who give electricity their neighbours, a volunteer who collects help for the victims, rescuers who pull people out of the fire, all kinds of Christmas garlands that people use as light. But next to these events, you can also see ordinary life. Since people can get used to everything, even to russian missiles that have been flying over our heads for more than a year, killing innocent people, depriving us of electricity, heat, water, work. The 100 windows in picture represent not just the physical destruction of war, but also the countless stories of courage and hope that are being written by the people of Ukraine every day. Each window represents a family, a home, and a life that has been impacted by war. But beyond the broken glass and darkness, there is a light that shines within each of these homes. It is the light of hope, of resilience, and of a better future. Even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. P.S. I published this painting at the end of May 2024/ And in this time we again have a problem with electricity. It is like a terrible dream and nobody knows when it will finish.
