ARTIST STATEMENT Franco has been expressing himself through painting for a short time, but he has demonstrated his unique vision for the greater part of his life. He started drawing and painting at a young age with his Late grandfather in MALAWI AFRICA. It was during a time he was dealing with Severe depression that he found his voice through painting. The positive response to his work in this medium fed his desire to find and explore his EMOTIONAL TRUTH. He started studying color, and form via various philosophies of artist expression. The result is his unique blend of surrealistic, abstract art which captures the imagination, and frees the mind. Franco defines his Art Artist Statement: Artist statement (My Conflict) My journey titled “When Adam met Atom “This conflict motivates and drives my creative philosophies. united by eternal values and the revival of spirituality and serve as an impetus to reconnect with a mode of life most of us have only ever heard about. THE OTHER is the reality of an artist's life. And my search for TRUTH. EMOTIONAL TRUTH. I’m Caught in a web I keep spinning around myself in , a mixture of hubris and the guise of perfection, i fear being swallowed up by my own ambition. Never in the moment, as quickly as i reach my goals, suddenly the gaze shifts to those still looming in the distance. I judge myself harshly for not being further on the path and revel in the anxiety of racing the rate of consumption. I believe color symbolism especially geometry can greatly affect how we perceive this meaning. We use symbols to express something a feeling, an object or a concept. Symbols are building blocks of communication and consciousness. Inside each and every one of us lies primitive memories that are genetic and when we see these symbols mixed with color and geometry in my artwork. I believe they can reconnect us to that primal part of us that we may perhaps have forgotten. Perhaps even allow us to glimpse the deepest levels of our belief systems. It is this constant fight for what resonates as true that allows me to slowly work towards a completed painting. I had no idea at the choice I made of going against the current to maintain artistic integrity, and the feelings of isolation and vacancy bred by a persona that is always ready for the show.
