Eno Young is a Nigerian visual artist known for her bold vivid paintings and wooden sculptures. With over three years of practice, her work blends expressionism and abstract figuration. Eno Young is interested in unforgettable conversations. In her work, she explores intimate spaces, both literally and figuratively, which she calls "story houses". What happens in these spaces? What is being said? What is being shared? What is being experienced? These story houses are for gatherings and interactions, and are the birthplace of these conversations. They can also be havens, where a kind of connectedness forms between her ‘silhouettes’ - figures with unrecognisable facial identities. The silhouette motif in her work symbolises Eno’s interest in the conversations that not only unfold between each figure, but also between the work and the viewer. The vessels and branches that appear in her work are a reflection of the overall sentiment she's trying to convey, and her state of mind in correlation to each work. Eno Young has exhibited in prominent galleries and has sold a number of artworks worldwide.
