This colourful, floral impressionist painting on canvas is a response to the beauty of a simple garden of fresh flowers after the rain. It was started in May 2020 during the corona virus lockdown in South Africa and completed on 31 August 2020. The painting signals the hope of the easing of lockdown restrictions with the advent of spring.The work is inspired by the simple beauty of Monet’s abstract lily paintings. The painting is stretched on a top quality Winsens canvas.The sides of the canvas are painted to provide an excellent finish and the painting does not require framing.
