ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is inspired by the slopes around Lough Arrow in Co. Sligo, Ireland. The bruised light above it is an emotional translation of what the mountain emanates. There is very little light in winter so light seems to leak down and spotlight areas below as in the painting. An image of this painting was sent on Josie's 2016 Christmas card with Tess Gallagher. So it is a favorite from this year's paintings, in other words.
