Irena Bijelich Gorenjak (1972, Belgrade, Serbia) My work explores the subtle boundaries between the natural and the abstract, creating landscapes that seem familiar and surreal at the same time. Inspired by the forces of nature—volcanoes, lakes, mineral deposits—I create scenes that intertwine the earthly and the imaginary. My goal is not to simply reproduce nature, but to capture its dynamism and unpredictability through layers of colors, textures and shapes. These abstract landscapes invite the viewer on an introspective journey; they are a mirror of inner states, deep emotions and moments of contemplation. By combining organic forms with intense colors, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and mysticism, while leaving enough room for individual interpretation. Through art, I explore nature as a reflection of human experience—layered, unpredictable, but always deeply connected to the essential rhythms of life.
