This painting represents my current thinking. I paint with gesso first a thick layer as if I have made a single gesture with the brush winding its way down the surface of the painting, I go back to the painting until I am satisfied that it reads as I need it to.. I then cover this layer with cross hatching using a pigment pen followed by a layer of Titanium White acrylic paint. I have pared down my process in this painting so that the painting represents a simple but a complex thought.

He was born in the British Colony of Fiji. As a young child his Fijian mother took him with her to the ballet which she loved. The paintings go beyond the body evoking moods, gardens, sunlight and stories. He works between London and Silves in the Algarve Portugal. The paintings exist in time and space changing with the light. They represent a life time of work. The struggle for perfection and musicality, they carry memories and experiences pulled from the black hole of creativity.
