Wide Brown Land with Movie Star Pinks Painting

There have been many inspirations for this landscape of the mid west of New South Wales in Australia. Luke Scibberas and Idris Murphy have both painted the Broken Hill environs as have many renown Australian painters. I have relatives in the 1800s who lived and worked in the area and have driven these distances to experience the hardiness of the land and the culture. There is an underlying sense of love and joy that comes to me in the dry heat, when connected to family, and friends, and when I think of the fun of the movie Pricilla Queen of the desert, set in this area, hence the '>>movie star pinks" I tend to see pink everywhere, and love how people connect with that colour in my work, The land is vast, free, and fulll of surprises, and so my style and choice of colour reflects this.
