I'm a Western Australian Yamatji artist, living in Bridgetown WA. As a creator, my greatest hurdle has been the ability to paint just for myself. Initially I felt I should create to please others. I now know that the process is the road to fulfillment; allowing inspiration to guide me, rather than me attempting to guide inspiration. My works are informed by a healthy mix of Indigenous and white Caucasian influences. Occasionally I visit social and political issues, but the overriding influence for many of my works is my connection and interaction with the energy of the natural environment.
