ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This painting is part of Underland, a series of drawings and paintings focused on what lies underneath our feet and within the earth. I imagine it as a rich and unseen world where rocks tell the story of the animals and plants that once lived there. Through this window of the earth we can peek into life in a green valley where a stream runs through the landscape (and one sheep close to the bridge cannot seem to gain courage to cross it, so another one is talking her through it). In this valley sheep are guarded by loving donkeys, and there is plenty of wild grasses to feed everyone. Trees provide shelter to birds and shade in the summer months. Rolling hills are part of a delightful landscape where one can go into it though this window. I painted this oil on canvas in my studio in Pueblo Edén, Uruguay where I can admire tall trees and the rolling hills that characterize this area. This painting will be part of the Expo Uruguay Virtual 2020.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Sabina found success early in her art career. When she was 6 years old, one of her drawings drew a bidding war between two art collectors. Another of her drawings was selected for the cover of a record. Before her 10th birthday she sold prints of her drawings and donated funds to Children's Hospitals. Throughout her career she focused on figurative ink drawings with intricate details. Sabina has been influenced by Henri Rousseau, Caleb Ives Bach, Marrnyula Munungurr, Mulkun Wirrpanda, and Francisco Toledo. She treasures early American folk art, Pre-columbian, Aboriginal Australian, and Native American art.
