ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have always loved the beautiful statures in Italy. I also love the theme of Lions. When I saw this stature I wanted to convey the feeling of the meaning of the winged Lions that you see everywhere in Venice. It is my own version of the stature that is seen by the grand canal. I applied acrylic paint first and than glazed over with metallic gold. the sides of the painting show the buildings in the distance and the people walking by. the painting is on Canvas and has wire in back for hanging but no frame.
