ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Butterflies are one of the few representational subject matters that I am ever drawn to paint. I am fascinated by the power such a delicate creature can embody aesthetically. This piece is full of texture and colour, a real statement piece. I have used glass beading and varnish in areas of this piece which gives it a beautiful tactile quality. The sides of the canvas are neatly painted and I have signed the side of the third canvas. Each canvas is strung up and ready to hang.
