This painting was inspired by a photograph I took in the dead of winter as snow covered the roof tops of Toronto, Canada. I liked the the idea of creating a minimalist white painting that could be hung on a colourful wall. My use of a felt tip pen created an architectural look like that of a blueprint. I carefully used white acrylic paint to to pull the pen in alternating directions creating a feeling of movement like that of light snow blowing off the roof tops. This piece is painted on a Gallery Style Birch plywood panel with 1.5" deep heavy duty basswood frame, the painting does not continue on to the sides the original natural colour of the wood has not been altered for a clean look.
