"Woman and Cat" Painting

David is based in Cardiff, South Wales, UK and has been painting for most of his life. Although he has had some formal art training and education, he prefers to see himself as a self-taught artist, with everyday life experience being his teacher. David draws inspiration from some of the great art movements of the late 20th Century; colorfield painting, hard edge, geometric abstraction and post painterly abstraction. David explains ‘I see my work as an intuitive activity and a continual process of exploration. My work is an attempt to articulate creative ideas and thoughts through rhythms, sequences, patterns and cycles’. His paintings are very colourful and comprise of lines, shapes, textures and overlapping layers of paint. David’s work is collected both nationally and internationally; collectors include LVMH. His paintings are unique ‘one offs’ and include a signed Certificate of Authenticity. All work displayed on this page has been created since 2020.
