Reproduction of Sorolla's painting, an author who enjoyed extraordinary prestige at the beginning of the 20th century, whose fame eclipsed after his death in 1923 and was then rediscovered in recent years. About the Artist

Laura Cerponi

Italy

I live close to Albissola Marina defined by Marinetti “Free Republic of Arts“. A small village with a long tradition of ceramics, where you can “breathe” art everywhere: from the many galleries, studios and workshops, to the works of art left by Italian and international artists who lived or worked here like: Eduardo Arroyo, Guy de Rougemont, Ansger Elde, Agenore Fabbri, Lucio Fontana, Asger Jorn, Wifredo Lam, Emanuele Luzzati, Eliseo Salino, Aligi Sassu,
This place rich of inspiration largerly influenced me in my activity as an artist. I started painting reproducing works of some of my favourite masters: Joaquín Sorolla, Italian Macchiaioli and Lucian Freud. After a course at Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti in Genoa and thanks to workshops with local artists like Rita Spirito, Attilio Cicala, Gigi Paoletti and Franco Buffarello I acquired a more personal way to express myself. I am now part of the Association “Antica Fornace Alba Docilia” , an old ceramic factory with kilns dating back to the 17th century transformed into a modern exhibition venue.
