This work was inspired by beautiful national trust woodland near my home. I tried to convey the sense of silence and peace I experienced in this snowy sun lit landscape. I used both brushes and palette knives to create a sense of depth and texture in the painting.

I studied The History of Art and Architecture at Birkbeck College London and have undertaken classes in classical drawing and painting at London Fine Art Studios. I hold an LRPS distinction from the Royal Photographic Society. My background is in craft silk painting where I worked for many years designing and producing wall hangings and paintings. Although I draw my inspiration from many sources my recent work focuses mainly on nautical subjects. I am fascinated by the play of light on water and of the changing moods of the sea. From tranquil harbours to sandy beaches the seashore draws me back time and again.
